P&H OMEGA 20

The P&H Omega 20 is one of the most reliable rough terrain cranes built in the 1980s. It has a 20-ton capacity and is outfitted with a four-section 80-foot boom. Unfortunately, its production was discontinued in 1983. However, many units are still in use today, which is why you’ll find many replacement P&H Omega 20 parts in case your units need repairs.

P&H OMEGA 20 FEATURES OVERVIEW

CRANE BOOM

The Omega 20 offers superior lifting performance thanks to its four-section rectangular four-plate boom. It’s welded inside and out for better durability. It also features an adjustable nylon slider and random sequencing-powered sections. When retracted, the boom’s length is 7.7 meters, but it goes up to 13.2 meters when extended. In addition, you can find plenty of replacement P&H Omega 20 crane parts for the boom assembly.

For precise placement, the P&H Omega 20 provides telescope-rated loads. In addition, the design reduces cylinder deflection via semi-fixed cylinder mounts. These features also increase the boom’s telescoping capacity.

OPERATOR’S CAB

The Omega 20 provides total operator comfort with plenty of legroom while operating the controls. The cab features improve one’s productivity since you tend to feel less fatigue. With lots of leg and elbow room, operators have a full view of the surrounding area, enabling them to see the surrounding landscape while operating the crane. This improves the safety ratings on the job site.

The seat in the cab is four-way adjustable with a maximum torsion of 56 inches. In addition, the cab is outfitted with safety glass, improving driver safety. The cab has a stand-up height of 56 inches and is cushion-mounted for better noise and vibration dampening.

Your crane may need a replacement for the operator’s cab with many components that can malfunction. We can provide the complete line of replacement P&H Omega 20 parts for the cab. In addition, we can help you identify specific part numbers to process your orders if you call today.

CONTROLS

The crane operator of the Omega 20 will primarily use foot pedals for the engine throttle, service brakes, swing brakes, and boom hoist. The steering wheel allows the operator to turn the crane in the desired direction. To the wheel’s left, one would find double-acting console-mounted levers for the telescope and swing. Auxiliary levers can be found to the right of the steering wheel.

The floor-mounted levers on the right side of the operator’s seat are for the house lock and swing brake. You will also find drum rotation indicators in the same space. You’ll find console-mounted switches on the right side, including the master lights, windshield wipers, parking brakes, and engine start/stop.

TRANSPORT MECHANISM

The P&H Omega 20 is powered by a three-cylinder Detroit Diesel 3L-53T engine, which delivers a total of 125 gross horsepower. This turbocharged engine offers low fuel consumption, low sound levels, and excellent high-altitude performance. The engine also provides superior torque, which aids in the crane’s optimum horsepower usage.

POWER DELIVERY

We also provide replacement P&H Omega 20 crane parts for the main winch, which is a Braden Model PD12A. This single-speed winch is mounted on the boom’s rear base.

HOIST AND TELESCOPE

The hoist setup consists of a ten-inch double-acting ID cylinder. It’s hydraulically powered and is raised and lowered using a holding valve. On the other hand, the telescope consists of a 5.25-inch ID cylinder, which is also hydraulically powered to retract and extend for each of the four powered sections.
