Terex RT230 Crane Parts
The Terex RT230 is one of the most popular rough terrain cranes built by the Terex® Cranes. Its production started in 1994 and was discontinued in 2017. However, the RT230 parts are still available in the market. The crane has a lifting capacity of up to 30 tons with a four-section mechanically coordinated boom. This rough terrain crane offers the latest in hydraulics, technology, design, and ergonomics for flexibly executing various construction tasks.
Features and Overview of Terex RT230
Crane Boom
Boom Head
The boom head, which allows for side jib mounting, is welded onto the outer section of the boom. This is done by having four or five load sheaves and two idler sheaves mounted on sturdy, anti-friction bearings.
Main Boom
This consists of a 30-72’ three-section powerful boom. Each boom has a strong multi-plate design welded with anti-friction pads to help counter the weight of the load. What’s more, each boom hoisting cylinder provides a boom elevation range of -4 to 76 degrees.
The Terex RT230 has a synchronization system with a single telescopic cylinder and strong leaf chains to retract and extend the tip section.
Jibs
The RT230 has a side stowing swing-on single lattice jib with a single metallic sheave installed on the anti-friction bearings. The jib is 100 feet long and is offsettable at 0°, 15°, or 30°. It can be extended to 43 feet.
Transport Mechanism
The Terex RT230 is powered by a 130HP Cummins QSB4.5 diesel engine and a 4-speed power transmission shift to provide enough power and speed suitable for all site conditions and project types.
Power Delivery
RT230 features three gear type pumps: two in tandem and one single. The system has a combined capacity of 113 gallons per minute (GPM). This crane also features a hydraulic winch equipped with an integral automatic brake and grooved drum for better rope spooling. The winch has a 2-speed operation for equal power up and down.
Operator Cab
This has a sliding door positioned on the left side of the deck. A framed sliding window is on the right side with tinted glass and a removable front windshield to provide optimized visibility of the load.
The rubber floor matting in the cab is mounted on pads that absorb vibration every time the crane moves. Additionally, it has a deluxe six-way adjustable operator’s seat equipped with a mechanical suspension and head and armrests.
