Replacement Crane Parts for Terex RT555

The Terex RT555 is one of the most popular rough terrain cranes. It was first built by Terex® Cranes in the 1990s. Although its production was discontinued in 2019, replacement crane parts for Terex RT555 are still available in the market.

The crane has a maximum lifting capacity of 55 tons with a 110 ft. (33.5m) mechanically synchronized boom. The Terex RT555 uses the latest technology and ergonomics ideal for construction tasks, drill rig placement, refinery maintenance, and steel erection applications.

Features and Overview of Terex RT555

Crane Boom

Boom Head

The quick-reeving boom head is welded on the outer section by 6 load sheaves and 2 idler sheaves mounted on sturdy, antifriction bearings. This main boom head allows for side jib mounting, unlike the auxiliary boom head, which installs on the main boom peak and is removable.

Main Boom

This consists of a 35-110 feet four-section power boom. Each boom has a sturdy multi-plate design that’s welded with antifriction slide pads. Moreover, these plates feature evenly stamped impressions that help increase the strength of the unit.

The Terex RT555 comes with telescoping abilities connected to a single lever control.

Jibs

The Terex RT555 has a side stow jib, which is 170 feet long and offsets at 30°, 15°, or 0°. The jib is easily installed using a single metallic sheave installed on an antifriction bearing. It can be extended up to 57 feet.

Transport Mechanism

The Terex RT555 is a 4WD (Four-Wheel Drive) powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 6 diesel engine with a 4-speed power shift transmission, providing enough power to easily move in the rugged job sites.

Power Delivery

This rough terrain crane has three gear pumps driven off the transmission with a combined system capability of 119 GPM (gallons per minute). It also features a hydraulic reservoir with 112 gallons capacity and a full-flow oil filtration system.

What’s more, it has an integral automatic brake, electronic drum indicators, and a powerful, two-speed winch for equal power upwards and downwards.

Operator’s Cab

The operator’s cab comes with a sliding door on the deck’s left side and a sliding tinted window on the right. It also features a removable windshield for optimal visibility when operating the crane.

Inside the cab, there’s a deluxe adjustable seat fitted with a suspension, head, and armrests. These armrests are mounted with dual-axis electro-proportional joysticks to provide the driver with precision controls. Additionally, it has rubber floor matting to absorb vibrations during movement.
